adriana k. monk has been at the helm of Monk Design since 2008. Her career was launched as a product designer at Designworks/USA, after which she established herself as a leading interiors designer in the automotive world (with major roles in the design of exclusive marques such as Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Land Rover) before following her passion for yachts.

Her highly developed sense for aesthetics and balanced proportions gives her a distinct global outlook and visionary approach that has delighted private and corporate clients alike. She enjoys collaborating with various design teams, often adding a fresh perspective and sharing her design passion.

Born into a designer family and a graduate of Art Center College of Design, Adriana has had the unique opportunity to make significant contributions to current industrial design.  Her work has received international acclaim from the World Superyacht Award and the International Yacht and Aviation Award for her contribution to the design of the Wally Cento “Hamilton” to the Red Dot, iF and Eurobike Design Awards for her electric bicycle designs.

Future Vision projects are part of Adriana’s design vocabulary and she played a pivotal role as lead interior designer for VARD’s “A step Forward” Ocean Survey Vessel presented at the 2015 Norshipping Show.

Today, her focus continues to be on performance sailing yachts (such as the Volvo Ocean Race boat wheel design), with a special emphasis on racing /cruising yacht interiors, livery and detailing for private clients.

Additionally, Adriana has been a guest lecturer at the Royal College of Art in London and at the International University of Monaco, inspiring students. She has been on the Judging Panel for the final Degree Show at the Yale School of Architecture and, since 2013, for the prestigious ShowBoat Design Awards.
